English

The English department have created a bank of resources which will be available on Google Classroom for students to access. These lessons follow the texts that students will be studying in school. There are booklets, PowerPoints and various exercises for students to engage with.

The following topics are what students are studying this term:

Maths

The Math department has created a designated website. Teachers at PACA have created a bank of lessons and resources to assist students with their learning:

If you are absent from a lesson please use the bank of lessons to keep on top your learning. 

All Class teachers upload their lessons daily to the website so that students can use them for remote learning. These lessons are under the ‘Resources’ tab/ page

Science

KS3: In the event your child has to self-isolate we will provide educational provision that matches the curriculum offering delivered within the classroom. This will be posted on Google Classroom with a link to Oak National Academy resources, these include, a video lesson, worksheet and quiz to complete.

KS4: In the event your child has to self-isolate we will post work in line the curriculum offering delivered within the classroom through GCSE pod.

Geography

For any student who is self-isolating, they should access the following work:

History

Key Stage 3: Students will be using online Kerboodle resources: https://www.kerboodle.com/users/login. All students have a login which is the same as their login for school computers, passwords can be reset via the Kerboodle website using school email.

Students need to use the digital text book and online quizzes alongside. All tasks should be completed in books or typed onto word document. All work needs to be uploaded to teachers on Fridays via Show My Homework. There will also be quizzes set every week by teacher on Kerboodle, these should be done after the written tasks.

If a student cannot access Kerboodle, we have a small number of text books we can loan.

These are the topics for Term 2:

Year 7 – The Norman conquest

Year 8 – The Industrial revolution using the digital book: (‘Revolution, Industry, Empire 1558-1901’)

Year 9 - World War Two (using the digital book called ‘Technology, War and Independence’)

Key Stage 4: If a student is going to miss a period of school due they need to let their teacher know via email.  Teachers will upload scheme of work and lesson resources to Google Classroom. They will set weekly tasks that students should complete in books or type up onto word document or Google doc. This work needs to be submitted to Google classroom on a weekly basis. We will also use quizzes on Seneca and videos on GCSE pod.

Year 10: Weimar and Nazi Germany 1918-1939

Year 11: Mock exam revision Paper 2 and Paper 3 then moving on to ‘Life in Nazi Germany’

Computing

The Computing department has developed a website for you to access all your learning: https://mrfinch.uk

Art, Design and Photography

KS3: There are termly tasks on Google Classroom where the students can submit completed work. These tasks cover similar topics in line with KS3 schemes of work followed by the Art Department. When students complete and submit work then they will receive teacher feedback as to how they can improve their piece. Following this, they will then be given time to work on and adjust their submission before moving on to the next task.

KS4: The structure is the same as KS3, however students can access videos via GSCE pods to help support their practical work, surrounding topics such as ‘how to achieve complete tasks such as Artist page’s’ or ‘developmental experiments’.

RE

Food Technology

For KS4: Please access Seneca Learning, topics will be posted on Google Classroom that we will be covering in class.  There is also the option to purchase the recommended CGP Food and Nutrition book and workbook to follow the work being done in class:  https://www.cgpbooks.co.uk/secondary-books/gcse/design-technology/food-prep-nutrition/fnar41-grade-9-1-gcse-food-preparation-nutriti. These may be purchased from Amazon form a quick delivery, or on parent pay if you can make it to school to collect.

PE

KS3: It is vital to maintain a health active lifestyle throughout your life. This helps to improve both your physical and mental health. When in lock down it is more important than ever to find way to be active at home. Here are some examples of what you could be doing within your home:

GCSE PE: Lesson resources (PowerPoints, work sheets, homework) will be uploaded to Google Classroom (2020-10CPg1). For students who have no/limited access to devices/internet, there is a paper work pack. This includes copies from the Edexcel revision guide and examination questions.

Topics for this term include: Functions of blood cells, the cardiovascular system and the respiratory system.

Sports Studies/Science

Lesson resources (PowerPoints, work sheets, homework, exam questions) will be uploaded to Google Classroom (2020-11DNs1 and 10D/Ns1). For students who have no/limited access to devices/internet, there is a paper revision guide. This includes teaching content and a range of examination questions.

Students will be consolidating knowledge and understanding for RO41 Reducing the Risk of Sports Injuries

Year 10 – Component 1: Exploring the Performing Arts logbooks based on the appreciation of a professional dance piece. 5 Soldiers by Rosie Kay.

Year 11 - Component 2: Developing Skills and Techniques for Performance. Students are required to learn the set repertoire from Missing You choreographed by Tessandra Chavez.

Media
