We would like to welcome you to our Local Governing Committee who are responsible for ensuring that PACA provides a high-quality educational experience.

As a member of the Aldridge Education family of schools, our Local Governing Committee is part of the overall governance structure of the multi-academy trust.

Sara Hinchliffe

I live in Hove and want to contribute to my local area; I believe that the whole community should be involved in ensuring that our children get the best possible education.

I have worked at the University of Sussex for more than 25 years, both as a teacher and as a manager. I have also worked in continuing and professional education for many years, including stints as an educator of students of all ages and am a passionate believer in the empowering nature of education.

Sarah Jennings

I live in Mile Oak and have one child at PACA and one at Mile Oak primary school.

After University, I started my career as an English and drama teacher and then worked at a school for children with Special Needs. I have a keen interest in adoption and fostering and am a proud adoptive parent.

I run a media company and work with a number of businesses ranging from start-ups to large corporations. I have a particular interest in media and entrepreneurship.

I am passionate about making sure that every child makes the most of their opportunities at school and leaves ready to make the most of their opportunities in life.

Alex Murphy

I live in Portslade and am a PACA parent with another child at primary school.

Alex Murphy has lived in Brighton for 20 years - and in Portslade for 13 of those. She works as a journalist for the BBC, and worked at  BBC Sussex before moving on to work for BBC across the country.


Both Alex's children have been to PACA. Her daughter got excellent GCSE results and is now doing A Levels at college and her son is still at the school. She is committed to making PACA the best place possible for the children of the area and is proud of being part of such a great school.

Matthew Yeates

I live in Portslade and am a PACA parent that wants to make a positive contribution.

Matthew has worked in the local area for most of his life, for the last 13 years he has lived in Portslade and has seen many positive changes within the local community. He currently works within the rail industry for Govia and prior to this spent 18 years working within the Criminal Justice system in a wide range of areas.

Both of Matthews children are at PACA and are making the most of the opportunities available to them. He is committed to ensuring that PACA continues to promote a culture of inclusion, creativity, social responsibility and academic achievement.

Steph Bower

I worked in Southampton as a Science and Maths teacher for 4 years and during this time I had roles in both the pastoral and subject sides of education. In 2017 I left the position to travel around Central and South America for a year.

I began working as a Maths and Science teacher at PACA in September 2018 where I am now the Lead teacher for KS3 Science. I am dedicated to ensuring that the pupils receive the best education possible during their time at PACA by providing them with an enjoyable curriculum that will help them thrive and want to achieve highly.
