Tuesday 25 June 2024 PACA General Election ??? General Election at PACA!With the General Election looming on 4th July, all this week we are holding our own vote at PACA.PACA has set up a polling station in the Oasis, where students are casting their individual votes. ????? Students have been informed about each party, empowering them to make their own decisions. It’s an exciting opportunity for Y7 students to participate in the democratic process during their assembly time. ??This gives students a chance to learn about why politics matters and the importance individuals being able to cast their own votes.

Thursday 2 May 2024 Bright Futures Trip 2024 This week 8 of our Y9 students had an enriching and unforgettable experience in Wales at the Nant BH Educational Centre in Conwy.They participated in exciting outdoor activities like gorge scrambling, zip lining, high ropes, canoeing, and hiking.The trip contributed to the students’ maturity, confidence, and politeness.Special thanks to Ms. MacBain for her guidance and support during this valuable opportunity.?????????#adventure #lifelongmemories

Friday 19 April 2024 KS4 Geography field trip to Hove Lagoon On Thursday 18th April, Year 11 Geography students undertook an enquiry into the impacts of different land use on the quality of the environment along the Hove sea front.Focusing primarily on Hove Lagoon and the areas of industry reaching out towards the light industry further along the sea front. In groups they carried out an environmental quality survey and had the opportunity to ask members of the public what their thoughts and feelings were on the built environment around them . The students enjoyed a one hour walk along the sea front on a beautiful day and carried out their fieldwork impeccably. Luckily, no one was caught off guard by the spring sunshine with plenty of sun cream to hand, not even Mr McCarthy's receding hairline. Well done Year 11!

Thursday 18 April 2024 Andorra 2024 Over the Easter holidays some of PACA’s students and staff visited the beautiful mountains of Andorra for PACA’s annual ski trip.

Monday 25 March 2024 Let's Dance 2024 On Friday 22nd March 26 PACA students participated in the Let's Dance show performed at Brighton Dome. This year's dance piece was choreographed by Project Female. Students have been working on their routine every Monday after school for the last term and have shown excellent commitment and passion.

Monday 25 March 2024 Maths Camp 2024 On Friday 22nd March we took 23 students away for 3 days of adventure activities and maths revision.

Friday 22 March 2024 Ian Murphy Ian Murphy, Contemporary Fine Artist, came in to PACA Art for a full day workshop with Y10. He created a creative environment for the art students to work in, bringing a lot of his artwork in ranging from his sketchbooks through to the development drawings and paintings . Giving the students first hand experience of the art and the techniques and processes they are going to learn throughout the workshop. The day then consisted of fast paced tutorials focusing on an aspect and technique that he uses in his own art work. It ranged from texture paper background, ink drawings and painting and text transfer. It was a fabulous day and all the pupils produced beautiful pieces.

Monday 18 March 2024 Staff V Student Netball On Friday 15th March PACA held another staff V student event. This time it was Netball with participants making donations to Comic Relief.It was a great match, well done to all the students and staff who took part.Staff won this time, we can't wait for the next staff V student event!Thanks to Mr Chantler for organising this and well done to Ms Coady, Ms Stevens, Mr Dance, Mr Mill, Mr Gill, Ms Wilson and Mr Zaoudi.

Wednesday 6 March 2024 Dare to Dream work place visit A group of Year 9 students were invited on a trip to the Wastewater Treatment Centre in Peacehaven. They were taken on a fantastic journey through the centre where dirty water became crystal clear. Hard hats in action, they found out lots of interesting facts and got to see the ins and outs of the £300m centre. To end the day, Mentors spoke to the students about their roles in Southern Water and the pathways that were available to them after they leave school, they took a particular interest in the apprenticeships.

Friday 2 February 2024 STEM January trips On Tuesday 23rd January, a group of Year 8 students had an exciting opportunity to take part in a set of events at Hove Park School for Girls in STEM. The day of workshops included Shattering Stereotypes, Lego Mindstorms Beach Clean and Magical Maths. The day concluded with a talk from Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock – famous space scientist, broadcaster and presenter of The Sky at Night.

Tuesday 2 January 2024 Computer Science - presenting information Last term in Computer Science students created their own professional PowerPoints whilst learning about how to save and share files safely. This is Elijah who presented his Alternative music of the 90s slides to his classmates.

Thursday 7 December 2023 Christmas Hampers Tutor groups are competing to create PACA's best Christmas hamper. They are already looking great, well done to students and staff for working on these.This is a final plea to students to bring in any non-perishable items by the start of next week.We will be donating these hampers to local charities The Purple People Kitchen and Off The Fence before the end of term.Thanks in advance.

Thursday 23 November 2023 Y8 Science This morning Mr Hook’s Y8 Science class learnt about wire circuits by drawing their circuits and building them.Lorand, Jack and Simon commented:‘we have been learning about wire circuits to enable us to power up light.’ Isabella said:‘I have learnt how to connect circuits and draw the plans. This lesson is fun because it’s stimulating and not boring.’#learningscience #paca

Wednesday 1 November 2023 Free dance classes for Y5 and Y6s PACA has an exciting opportunity for students in year 5 and year 6 to attend 5 free commercial dance sessions at PACA!The staff members are female lead and DBS checked. Project Female Dance Company is a company outreach promoted club, although it is named ‘project female’ they are inclusive and all genders are welcome. There are 25 spaces available and will be allocated at a first come first serve basis.????
